About Us

Like most women pregnant with their first child, I had absolutely no idea how much having a baby would change my life. I was a full time doctoral student living in Washington DC without any family nearby. I thought that after I had my baby I would just go ahead with my plan to complete my doctoral training, after all, I was almost done. Needless to say, that's not what happened.

After my daughter was born, I felt overwhelmed and out of control. I didn't think my stay-at-home-mom friends understood my strong desire to go back to my training, and I didn't think my classmates understood my intense yearning to stay at home with my daughter.

When my daughter turned three months old, I began to learn of other moms in my doctoral program who also recently had a baby. I wondered if they too felt torn and confused. I got their email addresses and sent out an initial email introducing myself, venting about how unsupported I felt, and assuring them that if they ever needed to talk, I was just a mouse click away.

With that first email, the seed for an online support group for all Moms was planted, and with the urging of my husband MomsSupportNetwork.com was born. Now that we have recently welcomed my son into our lives, I am more convinced than ever that Moms need other Moms, and our online setting is the perfect place to meet.
